ZONE CONFERENCES

Every transfer we get the chance of being visited by mission leaders. Just recently they changed from zone conference being every 3 months now to once in 6 weeks. This allows the missionaries to be trained. These zone conferences we get special training by President Msane and the assistants. These zone conferences are great opportunities to reflect upon what we need to improve on as missionaries. There are in fact four zone conferences; Nairobi (for the Nairobi, and kilungu hills missionaries), Eldoret (for the Eldoret, Busia, Kisumu, and Kitale missionaries), Dar es Salaam (for all of the Mwanza, Arusha and Dar es Salaam missionaries) and lastly the Mombasa Zone conference (for the Chulu, and Mombasa zone conference). Here we improve our teaching skills, our study skills, and our people skills. The best part of zone conference though is when we are fed amazing food. Food that doesn't have the missionary taste, and food that missionaries wouldn't eat on a regular basis. KFC or pizza is always the best. The sad though for all missionaries, every 6 weeks we get transfers. Which the mission President (President Msane) and the assistants take time to think and pray about where a missionary needs to be. Truly this is the Lord's work, so we are not put in a random place. In every area I have served in, I have found someone that was prepared and ready to receive the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. The movement is really hard in fact for all missionaries. But what every missionary knows is that the Lord calls you where you need to be. And I will never forget that. -Elder Thomas
